Volcán de San Salvador – Parque Nacional El Boquerón

El Boquerón, a true natural oasis in the middle of the largest city of El Salvador, located at the summit of Volcán de San Salvador.

For hiking lovers, it is perfect for an expedition; on the other hand, you can also enjoy the gastronomy and the tranquility the area offers, experiences not only during the day but also at night.

El Parque Nacional El Boquerón sits in the crater of Volcán de San Salvador, a protected area that boasts a great diversity of fauna and flora.

With marked trails and a walk of about 20 to 25 minutes to the crater, you will discover that the area has three viewpoints at different angles, where you can see El Boqueroncito, a smaller crater (approximately 37 meters high) and the slopes where temperate-climate flowers and fruits are cultivated.

In addition, along the road you will find beautiful viewpoints, restaurants and cafés with spectacular views of San Salvador, Lago de Ilopango and Volcán Chinchontepe, places where you will also enjoy a hot cup of coffee and other drinks such as natural sodas and even the most sophisticated wines, perfect to be paired with the wide gastronomy the park offers.

If your destination is El Parque Nacional El Boquerón, the hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The entrance fee for Salvadorans is $1 and for foreigners $2.

Children under 6 years old enter free, as do those over 60.
