About Peñón de Comasagua

If you want to impress yourself with a 360-degree view of mountain and beach at the same time, you must climb Peñón de Comasagua.

A great adventure full of nature and popular stories awaits you during the ascent to this massive stone, which offers beautiful views toward the Salvadoran coast and toward the hills and mountains that border it.

The hike to the summit is 1.5 kilometers, with a moderate difficulty level (3/10), because steps have been built around the stone, but once you reach the top there is no protection of any kind, so it is considered an extreme adventure.

When you reach the summit you’ll realize the whole trek was worth it, because you’ll be amazed by the imposing landscapes and colors that adorn it, especially at sunrise and sunset.

It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing, a hat or cap, sunscreen, and to bring enough water. There is no entrance fee, but local guide services are available.
