About Nahuizalco
Nahuizalco, a destination of history and crafts!
One of the most visited attractions in Nahuizalco is the Museo Conmemorativo Náhuatl Pipil, which gathers information about indigenous settlements, history, and details of the 1932 massacre, an event that marked El Salvador.
Cultural identity characterizes the people of Nahuizalco; today it is still possible to see individuals in their indigenous costumes.
The cuisine is another attraction of the area; if you visit, you must try the canchules: traditional tamales of the Day of the Dead festivities. Other delights to consider when tasting the local food are the pupusas de yuca and the yuca salcochada with chicharrón.
In Nahuizalco you can also explore the shops and workshops where the characteristic crafts and furniture of the area are made and sold.
Take a hike to the La Golondrinera waterfall, a drop of more than 40 meters; visit the night market; and go to the San Juan Bautista church, built in the 18th century, these are other activities you can enjoy.
