About La Palma
The most representative crafts of El Salvador are made in this place, a colorful municipality surrounded by pine trees that create a pure-air atmosphere you’ll love.
In this destination you’ll find most of its houses painted with naïve designs, very typical of the area, adding color to the town. This technique was created by Fernando Llort, one of the most recognized Salvadoran artists nationally and internationally.
During your visit, it is essential to tour the workshops where crafts in wood, leather, ceramics, seeds, and cotton clothing are made. As part of the experience the destination offers, you can test your painting skills.
Since it is a town with many attractions, you can hire a guide to take you to the most emblematic sites, such as the craft market, the church, among others. One of the most popular guided tours is the historic one where you will learn where the first peace dialogue was held and see the clock tower, which dates back to 1932.
La Palma is the starting point to go to different destinations in the highlands of Chalatenango, such as El Pital and Miramundo, where you can do agrotourism and much more.
