About Golfo de Fonseca

Among the Republics of El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, the Pacific Ocean forms the Gulf of Fonseca. Its main attraction is the paradisiacal view that allows you to appreciate islands that lie in the Pacific Ocean. Its waters host an imposing volcanic archipelago and the islands Meanguera, Meanguerita, Conchaguita, Punta Zacate or Zacatillo, Martín Pérez, Zacate Grande, El Tigre, Exposición, Rocas Desnudas, Los Farallones, among others.

The Gulf can be toured by boat, a service offered by locals and whose traditional departure port is the La Unión Dock or Los Coquitos Dock.

In this destination you can learn about history, since on Conchaguita Island you can see the doorway of the Santa Ana de Teca church, built in the 16th century by the friars of the Order of Saint Francis.

If fishing appeals to you, on Zacatillo Island you can have a unique experience, as its inhabitants devote themselves to this activity as their main source of work.
